Food is not just something we consume to fuel our bodies; it’s a medium that brings people together, creates memories, and evokes emotions. Shellian Carrette understands this very well and has turned her passion for cooking into an inspiring journey that led her to create “Pinch of Thyme.”

Born in Dominica and raised in St. Lucia, Shellian’s love for cooking started at the tender age of 10, inspired by her father, a chef. She marveled at how a few ingredients could create extraordinary dishes and was always eager to learn more. Encouraged by her parents to be independent, she took it upon herself to master cooking, often recreating flavors with her unique twist.

As she grew, her passion remained steadfast, leading her to excel in Food and Nutrition studies, topping her Caribbean Examination Council (CXC) exams. Friends and family urged her to start a catering business, but she was focused on completing her degree. However, after repeatedly asking God for a sign, she woke up one morning with an overwhelming urge to pursue her talent. With that, she founded “Pinch of Thyme” in 2022.
